Hai Lin hails from NYC, born and raised. He completed both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Ithaca, NY. Hai holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and a Bachelor’s in Clinical Health Studies. He has completed internships in various settings, from Mount Sinai Hospital’s spinal cord unit to outpatient sports orthopedic clinics. Despite the range of these settings, commonalities crucial to a therapeutic alliance remain: relationship building and movement.
Hai strives to bridge the gap between pain and performance by deeply understanding the person in front of him. He assesses their current functional abilities and uses their stated goals to guide the plan of care. There is no one-size-fits-all approach in physical therapy. If there were, everyone would be pain-free and living a normal life. Hai seeks out the most challenging task his clients do well and links it to their functional goals.
Hai firmly believes in exercise and movement as the most cost-effective, sustainable, and empowering methods for achieving clients’ goals. As such, he has invested most of his continuing education in learning from world-renowned strength and performance coaches. He loves self-help books, especially on human behavior and neuroscience. In his free time, you can find him exploring NYC on a CitiBike or playing pickup basketball.
